All Purple Gala Shines Light On The DMV's Best and Brightest
Black excellence is always in season and DC NOW Events’ Queens & Castles All Purple Gala 2019 is a celebration of it. With the Smithsonian Castle In Southwest Washington D.C. as the setting, this one-of-a-kind engagement honoring the community builders and luminaries in the areas of entrepreneurship, technology and the arts making a difference while empowering others to do the same. Former Miss Louisiana/Founder of Tulatalks.com Lauren ‘Tula’ Poindexter and WMAR-ABC2 News ‘Midday Maryland’ personality Elsa M. will co-host this exclusive social event.
“We wanted to create a ceremony that honors and acknowledges those individuals who are creatives, visionaries, advocates, influencers and community builders who have done exceptional work throughout 2018 and 2019,” DC NOW Events representative, Petra Clinton says when talking about the goal of the occasion. “Its a chance for all of these trailblazers to meet in one room to exchange ideas and connect with each other for a good cause.”
The 2019 All Purple Gala list of Honorees includes Donovan Woodberry (CEO of Posh Standard) Sharece Crawford (Political Consultant & Strategist), Chardelle Moore (Motivational Speaker & CEO of Motivational Moore, LLC), Ramone Messam (Entrepreneur & Founder of MoneOnDaBeat), Brittany Burton (Entertainment Editor and Publicist), Langston Vincent ("The Media Prince" International Journalist and Media Specialist) and featured Honoree of the night Kids Fashion Week DMV.
Kids Fashion Week DMV is a non-profit ‘focused on assisting professional kids meet their entertainment-based career goals by providing development and exposure opportunities’. Co-Founded in 2017 by Auntea Marie, Akilah Clark, Crystal Davis, this organization’s growing impact on its youth participants and onlooking members of the community is quickly becoming more than just a new trend. Future models walk down the runway and as young designers work backstage at every show. This is one of the many reasons Kids Fashion Week DMV 501(c)3 was chosen by DC NOW Events to receive a percentage of the gala's proceeds to help to further the creative enlighten and self-confidence of these aspiring young minds reach their fullest potential. Its daily efforts to prove an inclusive space are at the very core of The Gala’s celebratory and honorary theme.
“We also want those guests with children or relatives between the ages of 6-16 who may be interested in enrolling into the program will be able to connect with the co-founders of Kids Fashion Week DMV directly to get to know the people helping to change these lives,” Clinton says.
All professionals within the region and from elsewhere interests in the fine arts, small business and outreach are encouraged to attend. Along with the philanthropic efforts of The Gala remain the other festivities of this wonderful night. Live performances by opera singer, Victoria, guitarist, Ari O'Neal, saxophonist, Brian Love, and singer, Chardelle Moore. The night also celebrates the highly-anticipated launch of DCNowEvents.com and the announcement of the company’s next endeavor of Philly NOW Events.
