ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
A COVID test is not required for US citizens arriving in Brazil when fully vaccinated. Non-vaccinated arrivals must present a COVID test, RT-PCR, or an antigen test, no older than 1 day before arriving in Brazil.
For a comprehensive health prep, we advise setting up a visit with your healthcare provider 4-6 weeks prior to departure. This will help you understand and get any additional vaccines or medicines tailored to your travel.
Remember to register for State Department/Embassy alerts, to keep you informed while you're overseas.
Flights:
Your gateway to the pulsating heart of Brazil is through Rio de Janeiro-Galeão International Airport (GIG). To capitalize on early bird rates and secure your desired travel itinerary, we suggest booking flights roughly 3-6 months ahead of your departure date.
The start date of your Rio Adventure is May 21, 2024, please be in Rio by 5:00 PM to enjoy the evening festivities.
Check-in at your hotel is at 3:00 PM; we will do our best to arrange early check-in for anyone who arrives before that time.
For your return, schedule your departure from Rio de Janeiro-Galeão International Airport (GIG) anytime on May 27, 2024. Please note, hotel Check-out is at 11:00 AM Local Time.
Money / Currency:
Brazil's runs on the Brazilian Real (BRL). The current exchange rate hovers around 1 USD being equivalent to 5.20 BRL (please note, this may vary). Although many modern establishments accept credit cards, having cash in hand is advisable for street vendors, tips, dining experiences, and irresistible souvenirs. There's convenience in converting your USD to BRL at the airport upon landing. If you're looking to tap into ATMs, they are widely available, but be mindful of transaction fees which may vary from one bank to another.
Notes:
Traveling abroad requires a passport valid for six months beyond your travel dates. In order to participate in this experience, you must have a valid passport with an expiration date no SOONER than November 30, 2024. 2024.

Physical Activities:
This tour involves little physical activity outside of our daily walking tours. We will do our best to accommodate all physical needs, however, please ensure that you are physically able to participate in those activities without complaint, if not then this may not be the best trip for you.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
Missing a vacation is bad enough. Losing the money you paid for your vacation is even worse. Trip insurance is therefore highly recommended. Your premium is related to your trip cost, so you don’t have to worry about being over-insured. We recommend the Travel Insurance providers outlined below:
Payments & Payment Plans:
All payments to Adventure in Black are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is because Adventure in Black has contractual agreements with hotels, airlines, and other vendors that will not allow us to obtain any refunds. This way we can keep our package prices low and allow you to make monthly payments on your vacation.
Should you opt-in to our payment plan program, your invoice will clearly note your due dates and amount. We suggest you put this payment plan on your personal calendar.
A $75 late fee will be applied to all payments made after the 3-day grace period. Your trip is subject to cancellation after two missed payments.
